Hey Dude, Season 1 on DVD

It really is a little wild and a little strange. But it’s true. On July 19th, the first season of Nickelodeon’s Hey Dude will be released on DVD.

The list price right now is $19.93 for the 2-disc set. You can pre-order it on Amazon here for only $13.99

According to tvshowsondvd.com, Hey Dude ranked at #5 as most requested shows on DVD. And now our prayers have been answered.

Hey Dude starred David Brisbin as Mr. Ernst, the new owner of the Bar None Ranch. His staff of mischievous teens included Christine Taylor as Melody the lifeguard, Kelly Brown as Brad the riding instructor, and of course David Lascher as adorable troublemaker Ted.

This show was a personal favorite of mine so I’m thrilled that this finally came to be.

Why am I here?

NickelodeonThat’s a great question. It’s one that I had to answer myself: Why AM I here? Here’s why:

I love Nickelodeon.

That’s it. I grew up with Nickelodeon and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. But what exactly does this have to do with the blog?

This blog will be about Nickelodeon, yes. The main articles will focus on a single episode of a series from our time period (1985-2000). Each week, I will choose a random episode & first write about from the perspective of memory – quotes, jokes, personal moments. And don’t worry – I have a good memory. Then, I will review the episode as the well-rounded, educated adult that I am today (right….) and give my take on it – was it as good/bad/funny as I remember? What didn’t I notice at the time?  Etc.

And don’t think I’m sticking to Nickelodeon shows. Oh, no. I’m going to Disney & MTV. I plan on checking out old commercials, movies, trailers, books, toys.. and I am open to suggestions.

I plan on doing this for as long as I can find materials to review. I’ll also keep everybody informed about the status of some of these shows and actors.

Sound like fun? Nostalgic? I hope so. And I hope you’re willing to share your memories and opinions, too.

Awwww, here we go.
